Frequently asked questions

Where do I find these numbers?

Your latest mortgage statement has all of them: the original loan amount, the balance today, the interest rate, the term and your principal-and-interest payment. If your statement shows a larger payment that includes escrow for tax and insurance, enter only the principal and interest part, and put the rest under Costs.

Why is my payoff date different from my lender's?

The app projects forward from the balance you enter, at a fixed rate, assuming payments arrive on schedule. A lender's figure can differ because of the exact day interest is applied, a rate that adjusts, escrow shortfalls, or fees. Always confirm a real payoff figure with your lender.

Do extra payments really come off the principal?

Only if your servicer applies them that way. Some hold extra money towards the next scheduled payment instead, and some hold half-payments in a suspense account until the rest arrives. Mark extra payments "apply to principal" and check your next statement.

Why do weekly and biweekly finish at almost the same time?

Because they move nearly the same money. Twenty-six half payments and fifty-two quarter payments both add up to thirteen monthly payments a year instead of twelve. Raising the amount is what really moves the date.

Is my data backed up?

Your loan is stored on your iPhone and is included in your normal encrypted iPhone backup. It is not stored on any server of ours, so if you delete the app without a backup, the figures are gone.

Managing a subscription

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To view, change or cancel one, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the period ends stops the next charge; access continues until the period is over. "Restore purchases" in the app's Settings re-applies a purchase on a new device.

Report a bug or ask for a feature

Both are in the app under Settings › Help & Support, which opens a pre-addressed email. Feature requests genuinely shape what gets built next.
