EXIF ProTerms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the EXIF Pro application ("the App") published by Essential Dev Team ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your download from the App Store. Where these Terms and Apple's agreement conflict, Apple's agreement prevails with respect to the App Store.
2. What the App is for
EXIF Pro lets you view, edit and remove metadata embedded in photos on your device. You are responsible for the photos you choose to process and for the metadata values you enter. The App is a tool; it does not verify the accuracy or legality of any metadata you add.
3. Your responsibilities
- Only process photos you own or have the right to modify.
- Do not use the App to misrepresent the authorship, origin, date or location of a photo in a way that is unlawful, defamatory or intended to deceive (for example, to fabricate evidence or infringe copyright).
- Keep your own backups. The App asks before deleting an original photo, but you remain responsible for your library.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the App except as permitted by law.
4. Metadata removal is not a guarantee of anonymity
Stripping or wiping metadata removes the identifying fields stored in the photo's container. It does not alter what is visible in the image itself, and third-party services may add their own data after you share a photo. The App's sensitive-content scan is an on-device aid and may miss items or flag items that are harmless. Always review a photo before sharing it.
5. Free tier, EXIF Pro and payments
The App is free to download. The free tier lets you view all metadata and save or share your first three clean copies. EXIF Pro removes the limit and unlocks bulk editing, Secure Wipe and the privacy scan. It is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App before you buy and may vary by country.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its standard terms.
6. Privacy
The App processes your photos on your device. It collects only optional anonymous usage statistics, described in our Privacy Policy. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code and content are owned by Essential Dev Team and protected by copyright and other laws. Your photos remain yours; we claim no rights in anything you process with the App.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, THAT EVERY METADATA FIELD IN EVERY FILE FORMAT WILL BE READ OR REMOVED, OR THAT RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ESSENTIAL DEV TEAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PHOTOS, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD 10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may terminate or suspend the license if you breach these Terms. Sections 4, 7, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be resolved in the courts located there, unless the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published at this address with its effective date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
