1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using MediCabinet ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
MediCabinet is a personal medicine cabinet tracker application for iOS that allows you to:
- Track and organize medications, vitamins, supplements, and natural remedies
- Set expiration date reminders and receive alerts
- Search drug information from public government health databases
- Sync your medication data across Apple devices via iCloud
- Access a built-in drug encyclopedia with 70+ medications
3. Medical Disclaimer
This is a critical section. Please read it carefully.
MediCabinet is an informational and organizational tool only. The App:
- Does NOT provide medical advice, professional diagnoses, or treatment recommendations
- Does NOT replace consultation with qualified healthcare professionals
- Does NOT guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of drug information retrieved from external databases
- Should NOT be relied upon as the sole source of information for making medical decisions
Drug information displayed in the App is sourced from government databases (openFDA, RxNorm, DailyMed) and is provided "as is." Per openFDA guidelines: "Do not rely on openFDA to make decisions regarding medical care. Always speak to your health provider about the risks and benefits of FDA-regulated products."
You acknowledge that:
- You are solely responsible for verifying medication information with your healthcare provider
- Expiration alerts are based on dates you manually enter and may not reflect actual product safety
- Drug interaction information may be incomplete or outdated
- The App is not a substitute for reading medication labels, package inserts, or consulting a pharmacist
4. User Responsibilities
By using MediCabinet, you agree to:
- Enter accurate medication information to the best of your knowledge
- Not rely solely on the App for critical health decisions
- Keep your device and iCloud account secure to protect your medication data
- Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
5. Data and Privacy
Your use of MediCabinet is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how your data is handled. Key points:
- Your medication data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your private iCloud
- We do not collect, access, or store your personal or health data
- Drug search queries are sent to public government APIs without personal identifiers
6. Third-Party Services
MediCabinet integrates with the following third-party services:
Government Health Databases
- openFDA (api.fda.gov) - Subject to openFDA Terms
- RxNorm (rxnav.nlm.nih.gov) - Provided by the National Library of Medicine
- DailyMed (dailymed.nlm.nih.gov) - Provided by the National Library of Medicine
These services may be temporarily unavailable, and their data may change without notice. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.
Apple Services
- iCloud (CloudKit) - Data synchronization subject to Apple's iCloud Terms
- Push Notifications - Local notifications for expiration reminders
7. Intellectual Property
The MediCabinet app, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Drug information sourced from government databases is in the public domain per U.S. government policy. Attribution is provided in accordance with NLM and FDA guidelines.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- MediCabinet is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
- We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App
- We are not liable for any health outcomes resulting from reliance on information provided by the App
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MediCabinet, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
10. App Store Terms
Your use of MediCabinet is also subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail.
11. Modifications to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, update, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time
- Update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
12. Termination
You may stop using MediCabinet at any time by uninstalling the App. We may terminate or suspend access to the App if we determine that you have violated these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
