1. Introduction

MediCabinet ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal medicine cabinet tracker for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how MediCabinet handles your information when you use our application.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. MediCabinet is designed so that your personal health data remains under your control at all times.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

MediCabinet does not:

• Create user accounts or require registration
• Collect your name, email, phone number, or other personal identifiers
• Track your location
• Use analytics or tracking SDKs
• Display advertisements
• Sell or share your data with third parties
• Send your medication data to our servers (we have none)

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms:

• Medication records: Name, category, type, quantity, expiration date, storage location, and notes for each medication you add
• App preferences: Your settings, such as notification preferences, API toggles, cache settings, and default storage location
• Cached drug information: Search results from government health databases are cached locally to reduce network requests
• Terms acceptance record: A record that you accepted the terms, including timestamp, app version, and device model

This data is stored using Apple's UserDefaults and is not accessible to other applications on your device.

4. iCloud Synchronization

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, MediCabinet may sync your medication data across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit service.

• Synced data is stored in your private iCloud database, accessible only to your Apple ID
• We cannot access, read, or modify your iCloud data
• iCloud synchronization is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• You can disable iCloud sync through your device's iCloud settings

5. Government Health Database Queries

When you search for drug information, MediCabinet sends search queries to the following free, public U.S. government APIs:

• openFDA (api.fda.gov) - U.S. Food & Drug Administration
• RxNorm (rxnav.nlm.nih.gov) - National Library of Medicine
• DailyMed (dailymed.nlm.nih.gov) - National Library of Medicine

These requests contain only the drug name you search for. No personal information, device identifiers, or medication records are sent with these requests.

6. Notifications

MediCabinet uses local push notifications to alert you about medication expirations. These notifications are:

• Generated and scheduled entirely on your device
• Not sent through external servers
• Optional - you can disable them in the app settings or iOS system settings

7. Children's Privacy

MediCabinet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are under 13, please use the app only with the guidance and consent of a parent or guardian.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored on your device:

• Deleting a medication removes it from your device and iCloud
• Clearing cache removes all cached drug information
• Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device
• iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud settings

9. Security

MediCabinet relies on Apple's built-in security mechanisms to protect your data:

• Device encryption (iOS data protection)
• App sandboxing (data isolated from other apps)
• iCloud encryption (data encrypted in transit and at rest)
• HTTPS for all API communications

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
