Read Terms of Service →Open MediCabinet and tap the "+" button on the Cabinet tab. Enter the medication name, category, type, quantity, expiration date, and storage location. You can also add notes for any additional details. Tap "Save" to add it to your cabinet.
When you add a medication with an expiration date, MediCabinet schedules local notifications at four intervals: 30 days before, 7 days before, 1 day before, and on the expiration day at 9:00 AM. You can enable or disable notifications in the app's Settings tab. Make sure notifications are also enabled in your iOS Settings.
Yes. If you have iCloud enabled on your Apple devices, MediCabinet automatically syncs your medication data across all devices signed in with the same Apple ID. Your data is stored in your private iCloud database, accessible only to you.
MediCabinet pulls drug information from three trusted U.S. government sources: openFDA (FDA drug labels and adverse events), RxNorm (standardized drug names and interactions from the National Library of Medicine), and DailyMed (package inserts and product labeling). You can enable or disable each source individually in Settings.
Absolutely. MediCabinet stores all your data locally on your device. If you use iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud database, encrypted by Apple. We have no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, and no ads. We cannot see or access your medication data. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Yes. Your medicine cabinet works fully offline. Adding, editing, and viewing medications does not require an internet connection. The built-in drug encyclopedia with 70+ medications is also available offline. You only need internet access to search the government drug databases (openFDA, RxNorm, DailyMed) for additional information. Previously searched results are cached locally for offline access.
You can delete individual medications by swiping left on them in the Cabinet tab. To clear all cached drug information, go to Settings and tap "Clear Cache." To remove all app data completely, uninstall MediCabinet from your device. If you use iCloud sync, you can manage your iCloud data through Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud on your device.
No. MediCabinet is an organizational and informational tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always consult your doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. Do not rely solely on information from MediCabinet to make decisions about your health.
MediCabinet supports 14 categories: Pain Relief, Allergy, Digestive, Cold & Flu, Sleep, Vitamins, Supplements, First Aid, Skin Care, Herbal Tea, Herbal Supplement, Homeopathic, Aromatherapy, and Other. You can also classify medications by type: OTC (Over-the-Counter), Prescription, Supplement, Natural, Homeopathic, or Custom.
