Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Keepstack (“the app”, “we”, “us”), developed by Essential Dev Team, handles your information. By using Keepstack you agree to this policy.

Information we do not collect

Keepstack does not collect or share any personal information. Anonymous usage statistics are stored on our server, as described below. Specifically:

• No account or sign-up is required.
• No name, email, or contact information is collected by the app.
• No advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking SDKs are used. Keepstack does collect anonymous usage statistics, described below, which you can turn off.
• We operate no server that receives anything you save. The only thing our server receives is the anonymous usage statistics described below.

Your saves

The links, notes, photos, screenshots, videos, audio recordings, and PDFs you save are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded to us. If you delete the app, its locally stored data is removed by iOS.

iCloud Sync (optional)

Keepstack offers an optional iCloud Sync setting, which is off by default. When you switch it on, your saves are synchronised through your own private iCloud account so they appear on your other Apple devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud container, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy — we have no access to it, and it is never sent to any server of ours. You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time in the app’s Settings, and you can delete the synced copy along with your local data using the app’s delete-all-data control.

There is no Keepstack account

Keepstack has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no profile. We hold none of your saves: deleting the app removes your local data, and the delete-all-data control in Settings additionally removes the private iCloud copy if you enabled sync. The only data we hold is anonymous usage statistics — see below for how to have them deleted.

Anonymous usage statistics

Keepstack sends a small amount of anonymous usage data so we can tell which features people actually use and where the app is failing. It is tied to a random installation ID generated on your device — not to you, and not to any account, because there are no accounts.

What is sent

• Device model, iOS version and app version.
• Language, region and time zone.
• Accessibility settings that change the layout (for example larger text), so we can test the sizes people really use.
• Sessions, and the name of the screen you are on — “Search”, not what you searched for.
• The app’s own events: that an item was saved, a collection created, a reminder set, a search run. Never the contents, and never what you searched for.
• Paywall views and taps, and purchase, restore and cancellation events.
• Requests to show the App Store review prompt.
• Crash and performance diagnostics (Apple’s MetricKit).

What is never sent

• Your name, email address, phone number or postal address — we never ask for them.
• Your location.
• The advertising identifier (IDFA) or the vendor identifier (IDFV).
• Prices, receipts or transaction identifiers.
• Anything you save — no links, notes, photos, screenshots, videos, audio, PDFs, titles, tags, collection names or search terms.
• Your IP address is not stored and is not used to build a profile.

How long it is kept

Usage statistics are kept for 13 months; crash and performance diagnostics for 6 months. After that they are deleted.

Turning it off

Open Settings → Privacy → Share Usage Data in the app and switch it off. Nothing further is collected or sent from that moment.

Deleting what was already sent

Because the data carries no identity, we need your installation ID to find it. Open Settings → Privacy, tap Installation ID to copy it, and email it to essentialdevteam@gmail.com asking us to delete it.

On-device AI

Keepstack’s AI features — reading text inside images, summarizing pages, auto-tagging, categorizing, and semantic search — run entirely on your device using Apple’s built-in frameworks (Vision and Natural Language). Nothing you save is sent to any AI service or server.

Saved web links

When you save a link, the app fetches that web page directly from your device to capture its title, preview image, and text so your save stays readable and searchable. This is an ordinary web request from your device to the page’s website; no information is sent to us.

Photos, camera and microphone

Keepstack asks for access to your Photos library only when you choose to import a photo or screenshot, and for your camera or microphone only when you choose to capture a video or record an audio memo. This all happens on your device. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security.

Notifications

If you set a reminder on a save, Keepstack schedules a local notification on your device. No push server is involved and no notification data leaves your iPhone.

Share extension

The Keepstack share extension lets you save content from other apps. Shared content is written directly into the app’s private storage on your device; it is never transmitted anywhere.

Purchases and subscriptions

Keepstack offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (“Keepstack Pro”). All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Children’s privacy

Keepstack is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
