Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
The App is published by Essential Dev Team ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at essentialdevteam@gmail.com.
2. What data the App handles
To prepare a W-9 form, you may enter the following information into the App:
- Your name and business name
- Federal tax classification
- Address (street, city, state, ZIP)
- Taxpayer Identification Number (SSN or EIN)
- A drawn signature and the date of signing
- Optional notes, account numbers and requester information
This information is stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure storage. It is encrypted at rest by iOS using your device passcode and Apple's standard data protection.
3. What we collect
Nothing. The App does not contain analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or any third-party trackers. We do not receive your personal data, your tax data, your signature, your usage statistics, your device identifiers, your IP address, or any diagnostic information.
4. What we share
We cannot share what we do not collect. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties, because your data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself.
5. When data leaves your device
The only time the data you entered leaves your device is when you tap the Export or Share button and choose a destination (email, Files, AirDrop, Print, Save to Photos, etc.). At that point, the destination you chose receives the rendered W-9 PDF. Once it leaves the App, that data is governed by the privacy policy of the receiving app or service (for example Mail, iCloud, or your printer).
6. In-app purchases
The App offers a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase to unlock PDF export. Purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID. 7. Contacts permission
If you grant access to your iOS Contacts, the App uses that access only to read the contact you choose and pre-fill name and address fields. The App does not import contact data in bulk, does not upload your contacts anywhere, and never reads SSN, EIN or signature data from contacts. You can revoke contacts access at any time in iOS Settings.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users 17 years of age or older. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age.
9. Your rights
Because we do not collect or store your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You remain in full control of all data inside the App. You can delete saved profiles at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored W-9 data from your device.
10. Security
Your data is protected by the security features of your device, including the device passcode, biometric unlock (Face ID / Touch ID), and iOS Data Protection. We strongly recommend keeping a passcode set on your device.
11. Changes to this policy
If we update this Privacy Policy in the future, we will post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date above. Because we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify users directly — please check this page if you would like to see the latest version.
