StarKids ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the StarKids app.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Child profiles: Names, avatars, and age groups that you create within the app.
- Task and reward data: Chore names, point values, rewards, goals, and completion history.
- Parent PIN: A PIN code you set to protect parent-mode settings.
- Photos: Optional avatar photos selected from your device's photo library.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal identifiers such as email addresses, phone numbers, or real names beyond what you enter in the app.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
2. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device. If you enable the optional Cloud Sync feature (available with StarKids Pro), your data is also stored in your personal Apple iCloud account using Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
StarKids is designed for use by families. The app is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not:
- Knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
- Require any account creation or login.
- Display advertisements to children.
- Allow children to make purchases (purchases are protected by the App Store's parental controls).
All child data (names, avatars, task completion) is created by the parent within the app and stored only on the device (and optionally in the parent's iCloud account).
4. In-App Purchases
StarKids offers optional subscription plans ("StarKids Pro") processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on payment processing.
5. Notifications
The app may request permission to send local notifications (daily chore reminders, vacation return reminders). These notifications are generated locally on your device and are not sent through any external server.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your data to any third parties. Your data stays on your device and, if Cloud Sync is enabled, in your Apple iCloud account.
7. Data Deletion
You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Deleting the StarKids app from your device.
- Removing individual child profiles, tasks, or rewards within the app.
- If Cloud Sync was enabled, deleting the app's iCloud data through your device's Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data stored on your device, including a parent PIN to restrict access to app settings. Data stored in iCloud is protected by Apple's encryption and security infrastructure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
