What is SafeGuard?
SafeGuard is a personal communication app that lets you create legacy messages for your loved ones, set a check-in timer, and send silent emergency SOS alerts to your trusted contacts.
How does the check-in timer work?
You set a check-in interval (e.g., every 24 hours, every week). If you don't check in before the deadline, your pre-written legacy messages are automatically emailed to your designated contacts.
What is the Silent Distress feature?
You set up a separate distress PIN during onboarding. If you enter this PIN instead of your normal PIN, the app opens normally but silently sends an SOS email (with optional GPS location) to your emergency contacts. No visible alert is shown to anyone nearby.
Is SafeGuard an emergency service?
No. SafeGuard does not contact 911, police, or any emergency responders. It sends emails to private contacts you designate. If you are in immediate danger, always call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free accounts include 1 contact, 1 message, a 3-day check-in timer, and 1 emergency SOS contact. Premium unlocks up to 20 contacts, 20 messages, all timer intervals with auto-renew, multiple SOS contacts, 500-character SOS messages, contact import, and custom app icon. Plans: $2.99/week, $6.99/month, or $49.99/year (best value with a 7-day free trial).
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open your iPhone Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > SafeGuard > Cancel Subscription. Your premium features will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I change my PIN or distress PIN?
Yes. Go to Settings in the app to update your normal PIN. To reset your distress PIN, use the reset option in Settings (requires your current normal PIN for verification).
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
All your personal data, messages, and contacts are permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. Any messages that were already sent via email cannot be recalled.
My contacts didn't receive my SOS/legacy messages. What happened?
Message delivery depends on internet connectivity, email provider availability, and spam filters. Ask your contacts to check their spam/junk folders. If the issue persists, contact us at the email above.
I forgot my account password. How do I recover it?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" to receive a password reset link via email. Your app PIN is separate from your account password.
